BKB

Just a quick one...

Had the fisrt 'winter' ride of the season yesterday. For that, read rain and washing-machine clogging levels of mud! Met up with Rob and Stu down at Peaslake and hit up the usual suspects, consuming tea and cake en-route.

What was of note, was that Barry Knows Best is no re-opened after the surface has been compacted on the lower section, which was re-built/altered to avoid the errosion of the final rooted descent becoming too bad. The result is rather good, with some nice berms and a bit of a 'trail center' feel.

This is what it MAY have looked like if I'd had a working camera and if we hadn't run it in the dark...

Well. erm. Nice one boys.

Second round of 'my necko' the woods'IBFC style saw Finter come up and ride Woburn. Late and hungover, he was. Wet, it was.

We started out doing an xc loop type thing, riding the stuff that I've been on all summer. However, this was the wettest I'd ridden it for ages and it was SLOW and slippery as expected. BRING BACK SUMMER and DUST!!!!

Then we headed over to the jump spot and had a small and timid sesh... Dusk pics:

Short 'n' Sweet

The snow line is dropping, Jamie and Craig have already skinned up from Avoriaz to Le Haute Forte yesterday and all being well I'm going up on Sunday, out with the bike, in with the board, god bless the mountains.

Flying high again...

Ha,just found this on Pinkbike, it was a recent POD. These people are NOT Chris... and erm, its their copyright. Thought it showed the jump nicely though from another angle - Chris is more hardcore as he is on a hardtail. yeah. Sorry for hijacking your post CSL!

Rad. etc. But seriously, I like it as I'm never going to try a backflip, I can enjoy others doing them! How nice is the first train session footage!!!

QE and Rogate!

Saturday saw us hook up at QE near Pompey for a ride round Daryl's local trails... if we could find them. Apparently a hurricane had been through during the week and whether or no that was actually the case, you couldn't see a bloody trail for the leaves! What was good about it was that wet leaves on technical chalk steepness means much out of controlness!!! Once you got the hang of it, it was awesome and full on. On several occasions I got into a two wheel drift and nearly every corner involved a foot out. There was some really nice tech downhills which really kept you on the ball, but we wanted more flow and after one final climb, we got one of those proper fast hit-it-on-spec trails that you can floor. Proper bo.

We were riding with Barney, Adam and Will, some of Sibley's mates, in one of those random phone-number-car-park hook ups. Sibley would have been there, but he got run over on his road bike, probably being rad. Hope the knee is getting better, Stu.

After we hit QE it was off to Rogate for jumps an ting. I want to go back and join in the fun. More on that later... The vid below is of the Double that was being sessioned and the big boost (bad shot, sos) is quite BIG. We'll be back for that one at some point!
